Doha, Qatar - 16 October, 2014: His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, inaugurated the 'RasGas Milestones Gallery' in the presence of RasGas' board of directors and the Executive Leadership Team. The gallery, which is established at the company's headquarters, celebrates RasGas' milestone achievements through a series of exhibits from the laying of the foundation stone in 1997 at Ras Laffan to last year's Helium 2 inauguration.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, said, "RasGas' remarkable success story is part of our wise leadership' strategic vision to develop Qatar's hydrocarbon resources and further optimize their utilization. It gives us all a sense of real pride to see our major achievements documented in such a creative manner. As a leading Qatari reliable LNG supplier setting the pace for the industry globally, RasGas is also committed to help achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030."
In addition, RasGas CEO, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi said, "These successes are attributable to our highly-skilled, multicultural workforce who worked to achieve our vision of being a world class energy supplier. To celebrate our success over the years we are pleased to open our Milestones Gallery, sharing our corporate memories and sense of pride at our remarkable achievements."
The exhibition includes exhibits reflecting RasGas' operation of seven LNG trains, two Al Khaleej Gas trains and two helium plant facilities. Space within the exhibition has been reserved for the future Barzan Gas Project scheduled to come on stream next year. At that time, RasGas is expected to become the largest single site gas processor in the world.
The exhibition also showcases an artistic interpretation of the history of the RasGas logo. The oil-on-canvas abstract painting by renowned Qatari artist Ali Hassan Al Jaber visually reflects the seven evolving RasGas logos, RasGas shareholders, customers and key milestone statistics.
The Milestone Gallery will be a permanent exhibit in RasGas Headquarters.
